Hi and welcome back to our Switzerland road trip. After hearing stories over dinner about another abandoned hotel in the Disentis area, we of course couldn't wait to find it and check it out. The lady at the Restaurant gave us approximate directions, however it wasn't as easy to find as it sounded the night before. We ended up drivng up a seemingly never ending winding mountain road, passing a donkey farm and finally ending up at a guest house and restaurant named Ustria Val Sumvitg. We decided that this would be a good spot to stop for lunch and who knows, maybe we could find out a little more about this abandoned hotel. It turns out the owner not only knew which hotel we were looking for, but also told us that her husband has the keys to the empty building! Unfortunately he didn't have time to show us around, but did give us exact directions on how to get there. Nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Val Sumvitg we found the majestic Hotel Tenigerbad and were impressed by its stunning architecture and its fascinating history.
