Talking ASEAN “Welcoming Timor-Leste to ASEAN:Opportunities, Challenges, and Strategic Implications”

The Habibie Center is organizing a Talking ASEAN seminar titled “Welcoming Timor-Leste to ASEAN: Opportunities, Challenges, and Strategic Implications”. This event will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and academics to explore the political and socio-economic implications as well as the opportunities and challenges following Timor-Leste’s accession into ASEAN. Objectives The objectives of the Talking ASEAN are as follows: ● To identify Timor-Leste’s opportunities and challenges following its accession to ASEAN; ● To discuss key implications and potential outcomes of Timor-Leste’s admission to ASEAN for Timor-Leste, other AMS, and ASEAN as an institution; and ● To provide actionable recommendations for ASEAN and its external partners to support Timor-Leste in strengthening its capacity as a new ASEAN member. #TheHabibieCenter #TalkingASEAN
