Detroit People Mover compilation and Cab Ride

The Detroit People Mover is an automated light rail system operating in the downtown core in the city of Detroit. It opened in 1987 and hasn't received much renovation since then. It has never been expanded and still uses the same almost 40 year old rolling stock. The livery used to be white with a green and yellow stripe until all of the trains were wrapped in advertisements. The fare per person is 75 cents which is relatively inexpensive. The system is not in very good shape with only 2 trains running on the line and 8 minute headways on peak hours as well as the trains needing refurbishment or better, replacement. It does offer a nice view of the city and waterfront so it is nice to ride as a tourist. I would definitely recommend the people mover to any tourist coming to Detroit but otherwise it might be better to walk as the trains are truly unpredictable.
