Joe K. Wells, III, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a native Texan originally from Austin. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he also completed his residency in general surgery. He completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 2000. Dr. Wells is board-certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Wells specializes in carotid and lower extremity revascularization as well as the minimally invasive treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections. He is a frequent medical missionary to Guatemala. He is an active member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Society for Vascular Surgery, Parkland Surgical Society, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. Dr. Wells has been listed multiple times as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor ®.
