Suzuki has put a temporary hold on orders for the Jimny Nomade in Japan after an overwhelming response from buyers. In just four days after its launch, the company received 50,000 reservations, leading to a backlog of three and a half years. Due to this high demand, Suzuki has decided to pause new bookings until further notice. The Jimny Nomade is the five-door variant of the well-known compact sport utility vehicle. Unlike the three-door version, this model offers a longer wheelbase and an extra set of doors, making it a more practical choice. Suzuki manufactures the vehicle exclusively at its plant in Gurugram, India, with a limited monthly production output of 1,200 units for the Japanese market. On its official website, Suzuki issued an apology to customers who were considering purchasing the Jimny Nomade. The company acknowledged the strong demand and stated that it had received orders far beyond its production capacity. Suzuki assured potential buyers that updates would be provided when order availability improves, though no timeline has been given yet. First deliveries of the Jimny Nomade in Japan are scheduled to begin on April 3, 2025. Due to the order backlog, Suzuki has also decided to cancel all planned exhibition events for the vehicle in Japan.
