This video provides a step-by-step guide on how to safely remove the old coil, install a new one, and, most importantly, set the precise ignition coil air gap (the clearance between the coil and the flywheel). 🔧 Ignition Coil Removal Guide Tools Needed: 8 mm or 10 mm Socket, Flat-head screwdriver, Spark Tester or Multimeter (for diagnosis). Safety First: Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug. This ensures the engine cannot start while you are working. Remove Shrouding: Remove the recoil starter assembly (pull cord) and any necessary fan shrouds to expose the flywheel and ignition coil. Locate Coil: The ignition coil is mounted to the engine block near the top of the flywheel, held by two bolts. Disconnect Wires: Disconnect the low-tension kill switch wire from the ignition coil. On some models, this wire is simply a spade connector.
