Making A MY FAIR LADY Dress!

Check out my process for making a MY FAIR LADY Dress! Every woman should feel this fabulous at one point in their life! I combined three Simplicity patterns to create this beauty and then grabbed some lace and a PVC pipe for the parasol. The base for the hat came from Amazon (all materials are listed below) and I pulled together some tulle, ostrich feathers, and made an extra bow for the top. I'd love to know if you have ever made a project that combined more than one sewing pattern! Let me know in the comments! MATERIALS: Fabric came from Joann's Fabrics store. -I used Matte Satin. DO NOT use Satin! Learn from my mistakes, Satin is the fabric from Hell! Ha ha. It not only frays like crazy, but it catches on your machine needle and pulls the threads through, permanently damaging your outfit as you're trying to make it. Cast it back from whence it came! 30" white invisible zipper https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08... Ostrich feathers https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01... Extra wide white floppy sun hat -Came from Amazon, but I can't find the product on the site anymore...I'll keep looking! Wire for hat came from DollarTree (it was some kind of hanging flower pot holder that I cut up) Double Fold Bias Tape Black PATTERNS: Simplicity Pattern 8330 for the top/bodic of the dress Simplicity Pattern 8597 for the bottom of the dress (style option A) Simplicity Pattern S9473 for the neckline and sleeves (style option C and D) -NOTE: I had to lengthen the sleeves and make them skinnier. Also, when you cut the neckline, make it has far up as possible!! Otherwise, you'll end up with a collar that attaches down by your collarbone. I had to make a lot of adjustments to make this dress come together, so be patient and make sure to make the lining first before cutting your main fabric.
