In Korean, talchum (탈춤) comes from the combination of 'tal' (탈), which means mask, and 'chum' (춤), which means dance, hence 'talchum'. Therefore, it is an art of wearing a mask while dancing, or mask dance for short. The art of mask dance dates back to the period of the Three Kingdoms،Interestingly, people were reluctant to attach the word hill to the meaning of mask. In the past, they believed that if they kept a mask nearby, they would get into trouble due to the bad luck associated with the mask. Therefore, they stored the masks in the village shrine or burned them immediately after the ritual for which they were created. People viewed masks as religious objects, something to be feared, worshiped, and consecrated.Today we are sharing with you a special workshop on how to make traditional Korean masks and a special tour to learn about the different masks and their traditional dances, in addition to a special presentation on exercises in traditional mask dances. We hope you enjoy watching.❤️ #k_influencer #k_influencer2024#k_influencer_academy#korean_traditonal_culture#korean_history#korean_traditonal_masks#korean_talchum.
