You don’t have to pet battle anymore to capture pets, just click on it to capture. Once you capture it, it will go into your bag and you can learn it. It takes a really long time to spawn. At least for me. Hopefully you just find it passively while checking the spawn spot. If you want to camp it, hopefully you are not waiting long. Some things you can do is check in war mode and also phasing to another server by joining a quest or farm in the zone.
