「Hanshan (寒山)」- Piano and Voice Original

A folk song I composed - notes and harmonies were arranged by yours truly, but lyrics are taken from a verse from a set of poems by the 9th century poet Hanshan. I wanted to depict an image of a mountain village girl singing under her breath for this piece, accompanied by a guzheng. Unfortunately I wrote myself into a corner trying to mimic those tremolos - the piano part is full of them and my hands get tired way too quickly. Probably works well as a standalone piano piece too, but I wanted to try singing. Hope you enjoy! Translation: 人問寒山道， Where is the trail to Cold Mountain? 寒山路不通。 The Cold Mountain has no path through. 夏天冰未釋， It’s summer, yet the ice has not melted. 日出霧朦朧。 The sun is bright through the thick fog. 似我何由屆， You follow me 與君心不同。 Though our hearts and minds differ. 君心若似我， If your heart was like mine, 還得到其中。 You would have made it there.
