Autumn suffers from Dravet syndrome — a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy. Over the years Autumn has become a pharmaceutical guinea pig. All of her medications are maxed out. She is officially out of pharmaceutical options. Even her doctors have suggested medicinal cannabis as her only hope of finding a stable treatment. Kansas laws prevent Autumn from being able to try cannabis. We went and stayed with Autumn and met with two families that have already fled from Kansas to Colorado to have the chance at a safer medication. Gavin was diagnosed with Doose syndrome Epilepsy. In Kansas he suffered hundreds of seizures a day but in Colorado, with the help of cannabis treatment he is thriving. This is a true story of being a medical refugee in America.
