Critics use Paul's marriage analogy in Romans 7 to claim that we are "dead to the law," and therefore, we don't have to obey Gods Ten Commandments. But is that faithful to the context? Romans 7:12-13 KJV — Wherefore THE LAW is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and GOOD. Was then THAT WHICH IS GOOD MADE DEATH UNTO ME? 👉 GOD FORBID. 👈 But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. According to the context in the first few verses, it is the "old man" who has died, which is "dead to the law" since it's letter kills him. But not the new man. The new mam is the new YOU married to Christ. Are you a new man married to Christ? Then the Law, which is "good" (verse 12) is not made dead unto you.
