Leaders, practitioners and partners in the literacy sector came together in Sandton on 18 February for a powerful Leadership in Literacy Dialogue focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing reading for enjoyment in South Africa. Hosted by Nal'ibali, the dialogue created a space for thought leaders, educators, civil society organisations and literacy advocates to reflect on the state of literacy in the country, share insights, and explore collective solutions to support children’s reading journeys. The conversation highlighted the importance of partnerships, community-led initiatives, and creating environments where every child has access to stories in languages they understand and enjoy.
