I was wrong on the annual subscription cost for the elite it is only $545 after the first two years and again the tool is still useable if you don't update it. You just don't keep the warranty on it of course but for that cheap its worth it compared to all the other cost of updates for scanners on the market. A question I get all the time. “What scanner can do everything that I can buy?” And I always say it doesn’t exist and that holds true today. That being said my goal when recommending scan tools to people is trying to recommend a brand that is affordable but gets the job done and keeping more money in your pocket for other tools or just to live of course. The Topdon Phoenix elite definitely fits that bill. At $1600 right now online it’s a fantastic tool with bidirectional controls, topology, pre and post scan reporting which you can email directly and quickly from the tool itself.
