We traveled from Colorado to Crystal Beach Texas, to take in the hype of Camp Margaritaville. After being through a long winter in Colorado we figured this year we were in for some fun in the sun, and had been hearing alot about Camp Margaritavilles and how fun they were. We found this one in Crystal Beach, Texas, which was the closest to us, and gave it a shot. We were down there November and December which is their off season so there was not alot of people around but also not alot of activities to partake in either unfortunately. Now that being said Camp Margaritaville still tried to keep the fun flowing, whether it be the margarita cart on the weekends or the local singers that would perform on the weekends, we still had a great time. We also found out that people would camp here and then take the short ferry ride over to Galveston and take a cruise!!! we thought that is a great idea and perhaps might be in the works for next year...What do you think?? lol. The beach access is awesome here, a short walk and you are on the beach! You will notice that every building is elevated on the Bolivar Peninsula, this is to protect them from storm surge at Hurricane time. We would definitely recommend a trip here, if crowds and fun is your thing try late spring or summer. If you like peace and a little slower time, definitely winter time is for you.
