Not long after settling in, they started expecting me to babysit whenever they wanted time to relax. One day, they flat-out assumed I’d watch their kids so they could unwind, but I told them no. That’s when things blew up. They were furious that I wouldn’t step in and help, acting like I owed them free childcare just because we’re family. Instead of seeing my side, my parents backed them up and said I should be more supportive. It felt like everyone expected me to drop my own life to make things easier for them. After realizing I wasn’t going to get any support or respect in that house, I made a decision. I moved out. And since I had been helping cover some of their bills, I stopped paying those too.
