Suspended deck lifting GNL Tanks - Pori, Finland

The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage tank at the Port of Pori, Tahkoluoto Harbour, on the west coast of Finland, built by FCC Industrial, has a storage capacity of 30,000 cubic metres and is set to be ready for use during the last quarter of 2016. Over 250 full-time jobs will be created during implementation of the project and, once complete, around a dozen people will work directly at the new terminal and 50 will be placed in associated roles. The project will be carried out under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract and FCC Industrial will be responsible for all design and engineering work, as well as for procuring materials and constructing and commissioning both the tank and all secondary installations required for operation of the terminal. The company has considerable experience building similar LNG tanks. Its leading position in this sector in Spain is supported by the construction of seven LNG tanks at the ports of Gijon, Barcelona and Cartagena. These types of facilities are installed in the industrial zone of ports due to their strategic and logistic location, allowing for gas to be transported and distributed wherever required.
