Chunwan is china’s new years eve megabroadcast. It's a four hour long variety show of music, dance, comedy, and all sorts of traditional arts. Every year hundreds of millions of people tune in to celebrate. The main reason I know that chunwan exists is because of its martial arts performances. Martial arts are so iconic to china, and look great on stage, and can creatively showcase another of china’s strengths - technology. I always felt like the show creators are trying to give off the impression that china is incredible - past performances kind of gave me that sense of awe..
