Installed in 2001 to serve an expansion on the lower area of Peaked Mountain that we previously exclusively snowcat accessed, this Garaventa/CTEC detachable quad serves intermediate and advanced terrain. The lift sits on the lower 2/3of Peaked Mountain while leaving the true summit snowcat or hike-to access only until the installation of the Colter lift in 2022. It serves excellent bowl and glades terrain and its combination of short length and fast speed makes it a great lapping lift. The lift is designed for 2,400pph though the chair spacing suggests a capacity closer to 1,800pph. It is also a fairly late model CTEC detachable and it has and angled drive bullwheel (very similar to Snowbird’s Mineral Basin) that is tucked into the terminal much deeper than most CTEC detachables compared to sister lift Dreamcatcher where the bullwheel is much more visible. It uses a tensioned Stealth II bottom return, a fixed Stealth II top drive, AK-4 double position detachable grips, and standard CTEC detachable carriers with footrests. Overall it’s an excellent example of a late model CTEC detachable and it does its job well, I would expect to see this lift last another 10-15 years.
