Pastor Greg shares from Luke 5:1-11, specifically focusing on the disciples' response to the calling of Jesus to leave their nets to follow Him. The words "immediately" and "they left everything" can appear to sound impressive or even impulsive or irresponsible. However, this passage of Scripture is not their first encounter with Jesus, but it is a decisive encounter to surrender all to follow Jesus. Before they left their nets, there had been a journey where they had heard about Him, spent time with Him, witnessed His teaching and power in Cana, and where Peter had already experienced personal grace in his own household through the healing of his mother-in-law. The question for us today is, have we encountered Him? And if so, are we fully surrendered to hear and respond to His calling in our lives?
