(16 Aug 1999) Serbo-Croat/Nat Politicians from the Alliance for Change spoke in the Yugoslav town of Krusevac on Sunday to an enthusiastic crowd of several thousand people. The group is leading demonstrations around the country calling for Milosevic to step down. Zoran Zivkovic, a member of the Democratic party, said at a protest rally that the opposition would give Milosevic a deadline to resign and would force him out if necessary. Serbia's prime minister accused opposition leaders on Sunday of being "terrorists". A crowd of around seven thousand people gathered in the Yugoslav town of Krusevac on Sunday to hear speeches from politicians seeking the resignation of President Slobodan Milosevic. Members of the opposition Alliance for Change have been calling for Milosevic to resign in the aftermath of the NATO bombing campaign which destroyed much of the country's infrastructure. The President of the Democratic Party, a member of the Alliance told those present that it was up to them to make sure change took place in Yugoslavia. They will not change on their own" SUPER CAPTION: Doran Djindjic, President of Democratic Party Earlier a similar but smaller rally was held in the town of Trstenik. The crowd of around one thousand people was addressed by the mayor of Cacak, Velimir Ilic. It was here the Democratic Party member Zoran Zivkovic said Milosevic could be removed by force if he did not resign. With the backing of the influential Serbian Orthodox Church, the Alliance plans a major protest in Belgrade, the capital, on Thursday.
