WALKS IN DORSET at HOOKE & TOLLER WHELME (4K)

In this episode of my series “Walks in Dorset”, I take a 4.5 mile circular walk from the village of Hooke which is located about 4 miles East of Beaminster. Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan. I parked my car by the church at Hooke and started off with a wander through the village. After visiting the church of St Giles, I headed North past the old Watercress bed, the River Hooke and Hooke Court. Shortly after Hooke Court, I took a footpath North (a section of the Wessex Ridgeway) and passing Michael's Peace Nature Reserve headed for the tiny settlement of Toller Whelme. After taking a look at the church of St John & passing by Toller Whelme Manor house, I continued North towards the Western edge of the old Medieval Hooke Deer Park. My homeward leg took me through Westcombe Coppice, down the valley called Burnt Bottom and back to Hooke. Map courtesy of Google Maps. Aerial pictures courtesy of Google Maps.
