My first time in Islamabad, Pakistan 🇵🇰 and I was blown away by the city’s vibe, green streets, friendly locals. In this raw travel vlog I tried 5 authentic Pakistani dishes for the very first time: Haleem, Nihari, Chanay or Chana (Chickpea Curry), Aloo Matar (Potato & Peas Curry) and White Chicken Karahi. From the airport I took the Orange Line bus to my hotel in sector G9 (€9/night with AC, fridge and clean bathroom) and explored the commercial center ( "markaz" ) of the G9 sector, also known as the Karachi Company, where I saw cute friendy street cats and many other street animals like crows, chickens and dogs on the way for a breakfast at Darbar Restaurant (only €3 for 3 dishes!) and let me tell you, what an unbelievable start of these dishes were... It started raining and while many Pakistanis left their shops or restaurants to get wet and enjoy the rain, I went for a nap before going on another amazing night (street)food hunt at sector F7 and G6. Islamabad really surprised me with how easy it is to navigate (square/rectangle sectors), the affordable delicious food, and the mix of modern and traditional vibes.
