WARNING: contains adult themes and gratuitous suggestions of suggestiveness concerning a certain MSR-- Please don't watch if u find this type of thing offensive- don't want to make anyone's eyes bleed! **************************************** so this one started as a request by a few people who wanted something a bit- shall we say- steamier- and I'm more than happy to go there- I don't read all that fic for nothing afterall- I was going to wait on putting this out, but I guess trust no one- esp me when it comes to vidding. I've just been vidding a lot lately because of the 12/22/12 thing making me particularly nostalgic to spend time with my dvds. **xtra curricular scenes were taken mainly from some other DD/GA movies that by now we probably all know well. sooooo, I will explain kind of where I was going with this, but of course there are a couple different ways one could interpret as well besides mine and I don't want to stop people from doing that...don't read further if you'd like it to just speak for itself. I notice that throughout the series, M/S would at times use other people to serve as kind of surrogates for each other- because they wouldn't/couldn't be open w their feelings and maybe they didn't even fully realize they were doing this. Right before FTF movie, was 'the end' where we got the pleasure of meeting the Fowl one for the first time- this threat directly led to Scully telling Mulder he didn't need her in the FTF movie and what he told her in the hallway served to reassure her and keep her invested. But then came the season 6 opener 'the beginning' and Mulder basically undermines what he told Scully in FTF, and you can see the absolutely crushed look on her face...for Scully, after all she has sacrificed in the name of Mulder's quest and her unacknowledged feelings for him- this rejection is cataclysmic and eventually she even tells him that she can no longer help him. This was the first time in the series where I could actually sense that this rift could be irreparable between them (when Scully asks Mulder to trust her and he refuses to take that file- ooooh, *cringes*) Mulder for his part, I think honestly had some feelings for Diana (always thought they'd been married personally), and was torn over the state of his relationship with Scully... I wanted to show Scully's slow process of realization and how the Fowley threat kind of slaps her to awareness with respect to her feelings for Mulder. I wanted to suggest that she was living the relationship in her mind so to speak- fantasizing basically- and I don't think its a stretch to think that she did this- that is why I went with these lyrics- she is free in her mind to express her feelings but her body is caged- ...but also wanted to suggest there are thoughts running through more than just her head. its easy to gloss over that not everything worked all the time between them and sometimes they were practically incomprehensible to each other and very dysfunctional...this never diminished anything to me though- instead it grounded it. In real relationship, loving someone is both an instinct and a decision and with the decision, u agree to gloss over their shortcomings and your own to make it work-- So, that is why I like to vid the rifts, the tensions, the moments when they stood next to each other yet light years apart...it's part of it to me. aside: on that very quick scene where Scully is looking at the t.v. is a man (Svengali) hypnotizing a woman with his eyes, and the way Scully stares at the t.v. so intensely I thought was perfect here- like how she might feel- but it flashes by rather too quickly. and now-- I think I'm vidded out for a while!! enjoy and remember just how much we all wanted to shank Fowley prison style!
