This video shows the highlights of a 16-hour operation of sump diving in Miętusia Cave in Tatra Mountains in Poland 🏔️ Our team consisted of 10 people from Warsaw Speleoclub. Most likely, the last dive in this cave took place around 10 years ago — a submerged traverse completed by Mateusz Popek. The cave is accessible only in winter and only under the right conditions. The seasonal sump must be dry to allow access to the deeper sections of the system. The entrance is located at 1270 meters above sea level, and the cave begins with a very narrow 200-meter-long tube, making equipment transport extremely demanding. It took us about 2 hours just to reach the entrance. Transporting the cylinders was one of the biggest logistical challenges, but we managed to secure them using sewer pipes. The first team went ahead to rig all rope sections. The rest of the team focused on moving the diving equipment through the tight passages. The sump in the “Wielkie Kominy” section lies at -213 meters, at the bottom of a large shaft approximately 90 meters deep. It starts with a narrow vertical crack. #sumpdiving #cavediving #mountains #tatramountains
