After my south to north crossing of Dartmoor, I had a 3 day/2 night unplanned adventure on the north part of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. I was curious to find out what the north part of Dartmoor had to offer me. It turned out to be quiet an adventure with hot sun, strong winds, heavy rain, thunder storms, wonderful views, sunsets and great wild camping sites. I started my adventure from a sunny Okehampton Railway Station. After passing The Camp, I used the road then the track to ascend up to West Mill Tor. Then it was down into the valley to fill up with water before ascending on to East Mill Tor. Then down again, before climbing up hill for the last time to Oke Tor and my wild camping spot for the night. Day 2 - was overcast, after packing up #leavenotrace I headed along the ridge then past Steeperton Tor on my way to Wild Tor. Hound Tor was next followed by the stone circle just below Little Hound Tor. As I was in no rush today, I walked past White Hill then along the plateau half way up Cosdon Hill. Before returning to the ford across the River Taw. My wild camping spot for night 2 was on Belstone Common, where I watched the sinking sun turn the Taw valley golden. Day 3 - started wet but I only had a short walk to Belstone where I dropped off my pack before hiking around Belstone Tor. We had a lovely lunchtime meal at the pub in Belstone before heading home.
