INSIDE THE MGM SLAM LAS VEGAS | Player Practices, New Format & Behind the Scenes ✨🎲🎾🎰🤍

This week I headed to Las Vegas for the MGM Slam, and it was such a quick, fun stop on the professional tennis calendar. What made this event really interesting is that it’s not very common to see an exhibition in the middle of the season. Usually these kinds of events happen in November or December during the "offseason", but this one worked out perfectly because a lot of the players were already on their way to the desert for the BNP Paribas Open. I spent two nights in Vegas and got the chance to attend some of the player practices, which is always one of my favorite parts of these trips. It’s such a cool experience seeing the players up close as they warm up and prepare. At practice I was able to watch João Fonseca, Nick Kyrgios, and Gaël Monfils, and it’s always amazing to see the level they bring even during a practice session. Then it was time for the main event, and the format they used was really fun. Instead of traditional sets, the matches were played as 10-point tiebreakers, which kept things really fast-paced and exciting. I actually think it’s really important for professional tennis to continue testing new formats like this. The sport grows when we try new things, and this format created some really fun moments out there on court. The players seemed to be enjoying it too- you could tell they were having fun with the format while still bringing a high level of competition. I also got to show you guys some behind-the-scenes moments from the player party, which is always a fun part of these events. It’s a great chance for everyone to relax a little bit before heading into the next tournament. Overall this was such an awesome event and a really fun stop before everyone heads to Indian Wells.
