As some people will never consider these as a true Cuban cigar, The original La Aroma de Cuba cigar brand dates back in the late 1800s and early 1900s in Havana Cuba. Winston Churchill developed a passion for smoking these Cuban gems when he first visited Cuba in 1895. The brand was reintroduced in the United States 2002 by Jose Pepin Garcia. He is a well-known master blender, A Cuban cigar expert that worked for several well-known Cuban cigar brands in Cuba, including Montecristo, Cohiba, and Romeo y Julieta. Jose also trained many other cigar makers in Cuba. When the Garcia family left Cuba, they established their own brand in the US. as we know it today as "My Father Cigars" which is based in Miami, Florida The Garcia Family grow and harvests their tobacco in Estelí, Nicaragua. Historically, La Aroma de Cuba and the San Cristobal, which is another favorite of mine, and also produced by the Garcia family. These cigars are crafted with Cuban legacy and roots. The same Cuban tobacco seed that makes Cuban cigars what it was back then to what it is today but now blended and produced in Nicaragua. To some people Nicaragua is known as the New Cuba. And this is where the term Old World and new world cigar analogy comes from.
