We made the most of the long weekend (October 11–13) by setting out on a cycling adventure around Mt. Fuji’s Five Lakes. Our journey began early on October 11th. We departed Inage Station at 5:09 AM via the Local Sobu Line to Mitaka, then transferred at Ochanomizu Station at 6:05 AM to the Rapid Chuo Line. We arrived at Otsuki Station by 7:50 AM and continued on the Fujikyuko Line at 7:55 AM, reaching Kawaguchiko Station at 8:52 AM. After a quick breakfast at a nearby 7-Eleven, we began our ride at 10:00 AM, stopping first at the historic Fuji Sengen-jinja Shrine. We then headed toward Lake Yamanakako, but unfortunately, heavy rain dampened the experience. Despite the weather, we completed the loop around the lake and returned to Kawaguchiko Station to retrieve our belongings from the station lockers. We checked in at Cottage Toagawa and dropped off our gear before heading out for dinner. We enjoyed a hearty bowl of Mt. Fuji’s specialty ramen at a local restaurant, then returned to the cottage to rest and recharge. On October 12th, we woke up at 6:00 AM and set off at 7:00 AM to continue our cycling journey. We explored the remaining four lakes—Kawaguchiko, Saiko, Shoji, and Motosu—completing the full loop by 2:50 PM.
