Landing Challenge - shortest & narrowest runway I have landed on so far! Departed Melbourne flying low under the clouds and over the Bass Strait. Destination - Apollo Bay Airstrip, on the Great Ocean Road, one of the 'tiniest' runways in Australia. Narrow Airstrip Incline Short length Low approach on final Trees in the flightpath Next to the beach High air traffic of scenic flights Mountainous terrain in proximity No margin for any error, whatsoever.. All these together with some cross winds make landing here a real challenge for pilots. Took some serious prep with seniors and planning... glad I could do it!
