Autism Representation in the Media

April is Autism Acceptance Month, and as such I thought it was appropriate to make a video talking about Autism and the Autism Spectrum representation in the media. I realize that I'm uploading this video in May, but it took me a long time to make. There's many creative famous people with on The Spectrum (or with ASD). Including Dan Aykroyd, Dan Harmon and Satoshi Tajiri. Autistic characters in the media also include Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty, Carl Gould from Arthur and Abed Nadir from The Community. In today's video we discuss basic Autism knowledge and terms, famous people on the spectrum, canon autistic characters as well as head canons, and harmful media tropes and portrayals of those on the spectrum.
