Students Explore Jobs In Health- Inland Empire Health Professions Conference: 600 health-pathway students attended the high-energy Health Professions Conference at Loma Linda University to learn more about health professions needed in the Inland Empire. The underlying goal of the conference was to expose students to a variety of health professions that could be right for them, and to inspire them to believe in their dreams. “This event is the only one of its kind in the Inland Empire. Students from area high schools come to explore a variety of Health professions in a university setting….inspiration and motivation surround them!”- Carol Allbaugh, Director of the Inland Health Professions Coalition. Non-profit organization, Reach Out and Inland Health Professions Coalition hosted 30+ top medical professionals to inspire and engage students with presentations that detail how to get into fields of Nursing, Pathology, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Cardiology, Family Medicine and more. “There are so many health careers; it’s not just medicine and nursing. We hope they follow their passions, wherever it leads them.”- Dr. Paola Case, keynote speaker for the Health Professions Conference. Drills buzzed as students carved teeth molds in the dentistry lab, examined real cadavers in the cadaver lab, learned resuscitation in the medical SIM lab, networked with top health professionals, received valuable resource guides, and heard speeches from 30+ top health professionals from the Inland Empire. “I hope that they’re inspired and that they realize that the hard work they put in in this phase, can really payoff in the future.”- Dr. Paola Case, Family Medicine Practitioner and keynote speaker of the Health Professions Conference.
