This was the unexpected part of the current project. I knew there would be some rust to clean but had no clue how much damage there was until the engine came out. When you are as far into as I am, there is no giving up now. I even looked for another chassis last year before starting all of the suspension work. The Forester has been in a couple accidents before my ownership. It has a salvage title and I knew it had a rough life before me. Some left over impact damage likely started the rust and then letting the Forester sit in my yard on grass for years accelerated the problem. "Don't park on grass" I always tell people, then I did it myself. My plan of attack worked out well and I'm very satisfied with the end result. Thanks for watching!
