CA EDD Update on recapping the current stories impacting EDD claimants which include the EDD continuing to send out overpayment notices to current and former EDD Claimants on PUA, PEUC, Regular UI, and FED-ED claims now informing them they owe the state for funds they previously received due to a variety of reasons including: Not properly reporting wages earned while also collecting Unemployment, a former employer disputing there claim or not properly submitting requested documentation to the EDD. Overpayment notices can be appealed, and an overpayment waiver requested if the claim does not involve fraud, and a claimant can prove repaying the EDD would cause financial hardship.
