CAMPGROUND REVIEW: Campground map and reservations: https://parkreservations.maryland.gov/ I stayed in the Hemlock Loop at site 53. Sites are not private but there are trees around to wander through. Some traffic noise but overall campground was pretty quiet. I walked by the cabins and cabin 9 looked like the best one because it is the only one set back from the road a little bit. The cabins are all close together. Cabin 11 has a lake view but it is not private at all because everyone on the beach can see the porch. LIST OF HIKES I DID AND REVIEW: Trail descriptions: https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/... Trail map: https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/... 1. Orchard Loop. Short and easy. The orchard has picnic tables and is a nice lunch spot. 2. Connected all trails to do a big loop around the park starting with the Dynamite Shack Loop. BEST TRAILS IN THE PARK ARE: Dynamite Shack Loop (has elevation gain, views and part is along a small creek), Hemlock and Turnpike Trail (I think they are the prettiest because they go along the creek). OVERALL REVIEW: I honestly do not think I would come back to this state park. I already hiked all the trails and the views/scenery was not super special or amazing to make me want to return. I would instead keep exploring the area by camping in the nearby Savage River State Forest which has primitive camping and backpacking options.
