NORTHSEAKAYAK - Schipgat V

Schipgat is located in between the coastal villages Koksijde and Oostduinkerke. It is surrounded by the Schipgat nature reserve which exists out of active sand dunes and the adjacent beach. There is no sea wall, no beach heads, and no breakwaters which makes it perfect to us. When there is a bit of wind, coming from the North, to North West, it is the ideal play spot. You’re not going to find the perfect swell like along ocean beaches; we’re still talking about the North Sea. The North Sea is known for its choppy conditions and irregular waves. We like to call this spot our home, our anchorage, our playing ground. This is a special edition as I could break my previous speed record in a sea kayak: 32,9km/h!!!
