In Episode 9 of the RV-15 build series at Airspeed Acres, it’s time for one of the messiest — and most important — jobs in the entire wing build: sealing the left fuel tank. If you’ve ever worked with ProSeal, you know exactly what you’re getting into. Sticky, messy, unforgiving… but absolutely critical to building a leak-free fuel system. In this episode I walk through the process of preparing the tank components, mixing and applying the sealant, and getting everything assembled before the clock runs out on the working time. This is one of those steps where preparation and process matter just as much as the actual work. In this episode: • Preparing the tank components for sealing • Mixing and handling ProSeal • Sealing ribs and joints • Installing and fastening components before cure • Lessons learned from working with ProSeal The RV-15 project is being built at Airspeed Acres, and this series documents the full journey from kit to first flight. If you’re building an RV, thinking about starting a project, or just enjoy experimental aviation builds, subscribe and follow along as the airplane comes together.
