Up north we run into the notorious Northern Pike while bass fishing. I can’t tell you how many lures I’ve lost by getting bit off by these guys. And when it happens, it always seem to be one after the other all in the same day. When the pike are active they will eat everything. Now, if this happens more the a few times in a day I will go to a steel leader while I’m bass fishing. When I’ve done this I’ve still done well catching bass, and normally bigger ones that can compete with the pike.
