New data just revealed that U.S. birth rates have hit some of the lowest levels in nearly half a century. On the surface, it might sound like just another statistic or viral trend. However, it’s bigger than that. Much bigger. This isn’t just about population numbers or future workforce projections. It’s about what this trend reveals about us as a society, how we think about life, meaning, sacrifice, and what it means to invest in something beyond ourselves. In this video, I share my perspective, not just as a dad of eight, but as someone who never expected to be a dad of eight, on why this drop in birth rates isn’t just demographic data. It’s a reflection of deeper cultural shifts. And more specifically, the stories we’ve come to believe about kids, parenting, and what a good life really looks like. I promise that I'm not here to tell anyone how many kids they should have, or if they should have any at all. But I do want to challenge the narrative that having kids makes your life worse and that choosing not to is somehow the more enlightened path.
