do you like 70ies afro rhytms? than, listen to this one another thought about us on this flying rock, in french and german aswell ;) My AI Music Experiment THE SENTIENTS & MSO (Mashine Soul Orchestra) is an AI Music Project! I am not a musician. I never learned an instrument, I never studied sheet music, I never had the patience to sit down for hours and practice. But music has always been part of my life. Maniac record collector, amateur Dj 🙄 and i even did manage a world music club and organized many many concerts and parties. I always wanted to make music, but I lacked the persistence, the energy, and the discipline it takes to learn an instrument or musical notation. Sitting for days at the computer or with a live instrument was not for me. Today, with AI tools, it has become possible for someone like me – not a trained musician, but deeply passionate about music – to create music. I don’t have to earn money with it. I have a job. I do it for recreational reasons, for the joy of it. Honestly, I haven’t had this much fun with any of my hobbies in a long time. AI music lets me live out my ideas. And let me tell you: it’s not as simple as “push a button and the track is done.” Making music with AI still requires an idea, some knowledge of musical structures and instruments, an understanding of major and minor, some sense of notation, and awareness of how voices work. Notbto forgetbthe kyrics. Try to write a catchy refrain that doesn’t sound silly as f..k! You also have to program and guide the AI. It’s not trivial. A friend of mine, a professional musician, told me when I asked about the morality of making music with AI: “Go for it. Music in the last 20 years has already been heavily supported by AI-driven tools. Many professional production programs are AI-based. Most musicians today could not make their music without them. What still matters most is the idea.” That’s the point. The idea. The lyrics. The creativity. Singing and playing can always be done by someone else. For me, AI music means living out my musical dreams, and I am very happy with it. Still, I recommend to everyone who loves music: go to concerts. Musicians nowadays rarely earn money from hardcopies or streams – only very few do. Their income comes from live tickets and merchandise. Support your local DJs, bands, singers, and songwriters. Don’t just stream on Spotify. My message is clear: if you don’t like AI music, don’t listen to it. For me, it’s about the joy of creating, the fun of hearing my ideas come alive. I also use some of my tracks in social media projects for a nonprofit organization that has no budget. That’s how I first discovered that AI can be used to make music. I have no financial interest. If someone enjoys my music, I’m happy. Some of my tracks have even been picked up by real musicians who used them as inspiration – and I didn’t ask for money. I don’t care about that. I pay for the AI tools, so I have the rights, but I don’t want to take away from anyone else. For me, it’s simple: AI music is a way to live creativity. The rest belongs to the real musicians. #thesentientsandmso #djsiddata #marxwest #aimusic #kimusik #supportmusicians
