Known worldwide as “The Queen of the Skies” or the “Jumbo Jet,” this iconic aircraft earned its nickname thanks to its enormous size and incredible passenger capacity. The Boeing 747 made its first flight in 1969, and over 1,574 were built in total. The final 747, a 747-8F (freighter), was delivered to Atlas Air on January 31, 2023, marking the end of more than 54 years of production. Sadly, the passenger version of the 747 is becoming rarer as airlines retire them in favor of more fuel-efficient twin-engine jets.
