From Skim’s faux hair micro thong to Paris Fashion week, here’s what’s been happening in the fashion industry. If you’ve been online, you’ve probably seen Kim Kardashian’s attempt at popularizing merkins, which was not on my bingo card for 2025. Featuring 12 shade variations, this miro thong sold out in record time. In more high-brow news, Paris Fashion featured seven days of haute couture and cutting edge designs. Some standouts for me were Celine’s outdoor runway at Parc de Saint Cloud, especially their mini dresses and asymmetrical blazers. Another favourite of mine was Alaia’s Winter-Spring 2026 collection titled ‘Clothes that Cry’, and its use of fringing and edgy yet feminine asymmetrical dresses and skirts. And lastly, Nicole Kidman was named Chanel’s most recent House Ambassador following Matthieu Blazy’s first debut collection as Chanel’s Creative Director.
