Zenviron had to establish a dry work area within an existing lake and wetlands area to trench and install a High Voltage (HV) buried cable. During the construction of a Wind Farm, Zenviron Pty decided to deploy the NoFloods Inflatable Barriers as a temporary dam. The temporary dam created a dry work area within an existing lake and wetlands area to trench and install a High Voltage (HV) buried cable effectively. 110 meters of the temporary dam (NoFloods Barriers TwinTube 125) were quickly and easily deployed across the lake in one straight line. The Barrier was filled with water within a few hours of deployment, after which water was pumped from the “dry” to the “wet” area creating a dry work area for the trenching works. The entire works from deployment, filling, trenching and reinstatement were completed in under five days. General information on the NoFloods Barriers The Tubes/ temporary dam is delivered in tube sections up to 200 m / 600 ft. Each Tube Sections can be prolonged by adding a junction. Filling of water will normally take place from terminals and junctions. In this case, we filled directly into the tubes. A hydraulic winch is recommended during the removal of the tubes. This will minimize any labour-intensive work. Additional tubes can be connected. E.g. 3 tubes horizontal or vertical (triangle). Tubes can be stacked like a triangle.
