Transmedia Storytelling as the Bridge between Art and Technology Panel as part of the annual Crown Social Fiction conference at UCSC. Our panel of experts from the art and technology industries will share their insights and experiences on creating immersive narratives that span various media forms. Speakers include: Moderator Linda MacDonald Glenn, JD, LLM, an ethicist, futurist, educator and attorney-at-law with over 30 years of experience in private and public sectors across multiple industries including exponential technology, healthcare, government, education, business ethics and futures forecasting. She is Founding Director of the Center for Applied Values and Ethics in Advanced Technologies (CAVEAT) at Crown College, University of California Santa Cruz. She also holds faculty appointments at California State University Monterey Bay, and the Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical Center. Joel Bravette, a critically-acclaimed broadcaster, edutainer and entrepreneur based in London UK. Joel is a prominent social justice activist who is a youth ambassador for Made in Hackney Community Kitchen, a co-founder of CBACS (The Centre for British African Caribbean Studies), founder of BITO (The Black in the Open Institute) and a former trustee of the Vegan Society. Joel is known for his high energy stage performances, films and music which he has brought to audiences both domestically and internationally. McKenzie Floyd, a scientist, artist, and educator with a focus on interdisciplinary research and artmaking. She is a lecturer in chemistry at California State University Monterey Bay, curator at the National Steinbeck Center, and a multimedia artist. Michael J. Masucci, an award-winning artist/curator and producer. He currently serves as Commissioner and Chair of the Santa Monica Arts Commission and is Director of the EZTV Online Museum. His work has been presented at places such as the Centre Pompidou, the Institute of Contemporary Art (London) UCLA, the AFI, USC, the Wire Factory, Helsinki and Changchun Studios, China Nada Miljkovic, a multi-disciplinarian educator, entrepreneur, and artivist (artist-activist). She teaches a wide variety of subjects from entrepreneurship in its many flavors, digital storytelling, and the ethics of emerging technologies. She is UCSC Lecturer with Continuing Employment and the Project Manager for UCSC’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurial Development, (CIED). She is an Entrepreneur, Filmmaker & Community Activist Her favorite media varies in form and in accordance to interests, but particularly digital audio and moving images and performance. She was a construction project manager in her first career and is thrilled to be teaching it. Natasha Vita-More has made significate impact on this space. Authored the Transhumanist Manifesto, Co-created the Transhumanism Movement, Founder Center for Transhumanist Studies. Pioneered the first whole-body prosthetic Scientific Breakthrough - Long-term memory through vitrification. Developed the Metabrain prototype
