We had every intention of firing up the sawmill and getting back to cutting lumber… but things didn’t go as planned. Our blades never showed up, which meant no milling for the day. Instead of wasting time, we decided to tackle something that’s been sitting in front of us for YEARS — the massive sawdust pile in our front yard. What started as a small pile slowly turned into a mountain. It’s been building up season after season, and we finally decided it was time to move it once and for all. In this video, we pivot from sawing logs to moving loads of sawdust, cleaning up the yard, and making progress even when plans fall apart. Sometimes running a farm and sawmill means adjusting on the fly — and that’s exactly what we did.
