A. S. Dulat is a former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau and former chief of India's external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing from 1999 to 2000. After retirement from the R&AW, he was appointed as an advisor on Kashmir in the Prime Minister's Office of AB Vajpayee and served there from January 2000 to May 2004. AS Dulat is a member of the National Security Advisory Board. He is regarded as one of India's leading experts on Jammu and Kashmir. He’s also the author of two books- ‘The Spy Chronicles’ with DG ISI Lt Gen. Asad Durrani and 'Kashmir: The Vajpayee Years’. In this video, he talks about the need of reviving the political process of Kashmir, gives his assessment on the post Article 370 Kashmir, and discusses the need of winning the hearts and minds of Kashmiri people. He also gave his valuable inputs on dealing with Pakistan as an undisputed player in Kashmir and the Indian interest in Afghanistan.
