Interviewee: Enrique Tarrio of the Proud Boys The Proud Boys celebrated Independence day in Washington DC by walking to the US Capitol. They were met by a motorcycle group at the Capitol building where they chanted and posed for pictures. Later in the evening the Proud Boys watched the fireworks at the National Mall. Reports state that a Black Lives Matter group marched to their location to protest against them. The Proud Boys and other people who were being confronted by the BLM group were escorted by police back to their hotel. As the Proud Boys continued to celebrate at the bar below the hotel, a BLM protester was arrested at the scene though the reason as to why is not clear. Police informed the group that they may be in violation of fire safety and advised them to go inside. The Proud Boys complied and returned to their hotels.
