'Let Women Speak' rally gathers in Edinburgh to protest new Hate Crime Act

Protestors gathered outside The Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, to stand against the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act coming into force. The group 'Let Women Speak' are protesting against the new law, which extends legal protections to various characteristics including age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity. A counter protest 'Cabaret Against Hate Speech' was also present. Humza Yousaf hit back at criticism of the act from noted figures such as JK Rowling, calling on her to stop "peddling misinformation."
