An event held at Hirano Shrine in Kita-ku, Kyoto City. Hirano Shrine is a shrine located in Hiranomiya Honmachi, Kita-ku, Kyoto City. It was originally enshrined in the Heijo Palace (the palace of Emperor Konin, the father of Emperor Kanmu), but was moved to its current location in 794 when the capital was moved to Heian. It is very famous as a cherry blossom spot, and trees have been planted since the Heian period, and there are currently about 400 cherry trees of 60 varieties. In spring, it is a beautiful spot with a collaboration of rape blossoms and cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are also lit up at night. An event held at Hirano Shrine. The Okasai Festival is said to have originated when Emperor Kazan visited Hirano Shrine to pray for the prosperity of his descendants and held a special imperial festival.
