This is a very simple remix of Glen Campbell's 1968 number one hit that I think renders big results. The bass and drums are now "married to each other" in the center channel as separated from each other on opposite channels as they were in the original stereo release. This provides a center of gravity, so to speak, that glues the other elements together for a fuller, better balanced recording. A slight amount of reverb was added to the drums to provide a little surrounding air. The only other change that I made was to center the wonderful vocal performed by Glen Campbell. The original stereo release had his vocal slightly off center to the right. Quite bothersome if you're listening with headphones! This wonderful recording has a history of many remixes but in my opinion none ever achieved a proper result. There is a remix in which the bass and drums were centered but the vocal is very wet and diminishes Mr. Campbell's performance. I left his vocal dry in my remix which I think adds to the ambience of the song. I enjoyed working on this remix as it's one of my favorite songs and I hope you enjoy my effort. Nothing was added to this remix that wasn't present in the original. No pseudo acoustics or phasing tricks were used. It is strictly a de-mixing of the original and a remixing of the isolated elements using a mixing style common to the era in which it was recorded.
